Free US shipping over $150 · 30-day returns
Details
Wild silk baskets hand-dyed by the shibori method, which is what produces the geometric turtle pattern — a nod to the endangered Madagascar radiated tortoise. In a deep Egyptian red that warms up a shelf of neutrals.
Lined with cotton canvas for structure, and finished with a woven raffia trim at the rim. Buy one size, or the nesting set of three.
Materials
Dyed and undyed Ceranchia dense cocoon silk, with woven raffia trim, lined in cotton canvas.
Sizing
Diameter by height — small 4 by 5 in, medium 6 by 7 in, large 8 by 10 in. The nesting set is all three.
Care
Spot clean with cool or warm water, air dry, steam iron if you want to.
Made in
Handmade from start to finish in northeastern Madagascar.
Please note
Hand-dyeing varies, so size and colour differ a little from the photographs. Tanana Madagascar is the social enterprise of Conservation through Poverty Alleviation International, and returns 100% of its profits to its artisans and farmers through that organisation.
