Upcycled Organic Cotton Classic Scrunchie

A classic scrunchie in the same organic cotton Jackalo cuts its clothes from, so the loopknit, corduroy and twill here are the fabrics and colours that run through the rest of the range. The gather is generous enough to hold a thick ponytail and soft enough not to leave a kink or drag at the hairline, which is the whole reason to reach for a scrunchie over a bare elastic. A small bow comes with it and lifts off, so you can wear it plain or dressed up.

Each one is sewn from the offcuts left behind when the clothes are cut out. Zero-waste is not a slogan here, it is just what happens to the ends of the roll: instead of being thrown away, they get made into something small and useful, so no new cloth has to be woven for it.

Keep one in a school bag, one in a swim bag and one in a coat pocket, and there will be a good one to hand on the morning you cannot find anything. Easy to buy two of, because one always wanders off.

Materials

Organic cotton in loopknit, corduroy or twill depending on colourway, cut from Jackalo's production scraps.

Care

Pre-treat stains with an eco-friendly treatment such as oxygen bleach or castile soap. Wash in cool water and air dry. Don't wash what isn't dirty.
