The Mercato Tote Bag

A big, soft, oversized tote that holds a day's worth of everything and still looks considered. No logos, no hardware you have to think about, and a hidden internal strap that cinches the whole bag inward so it goes from roomy to compact when you are not loaded up.

The interior is coated in resin rather than lined, which gives it the clean look of an unlined bag plus enough water resistance to survive a leaking bottle or wet produce. Three ways to carry it: top handles, a shoulder strap, and an adjustable crossbody strap.

Cut in Italy from upcycled luxury leather — leftovers from the tanneries and family-run factories that supply the big fashion houses.

Materials

100% top-grain Italian tumbled calfskin. Interior: 100% resin coating. Dust bag: 100% cotton.

Sizing

12 in high, 23 in wide, 9.5 in deep. Top handle drop 5 in, shoulder strap drop 11.25 in, crossbody strap 9 to 23 in.

Care

Store it stuffed, in its dust bag, to keep its shape.
