Soup Bowl in 6"
Details
A 6 in bowl that turns out to be the one you use most: soup, yes, but also salad, a bowl of cereal, last night's leftovers. It is sized to sit comfortably in your hands and deep enough to hold a real portion rather than a polite one.
There are seven glazes, and they are meant to be mixed. Snow White is a clean, glossy bright glaze that contrasts crisply with the warm clay body. Charcoal Black is deep and rich with a smooth satin finish. Periwinkle Violet is a cool, glossy blue-violet, lively and expressive. Berry Red is a muted raspberry, warm and full of character. Sunrise Peach is a creamy apricot, bright and inviting. Ocean Teal is a refreshing matte turquoise with organic speckling and a subtle texture. Sandstone Clear is warm speckled clay, half-dipped in glossy clear glaze so the raw surface shows below.
Take one, or a set of four or six, and mix it with the plates and bowls in the same palette to build a set that is yours rather than off the shelf.
Materials
Glazed ceramic.
Sizing
6 in across, 2.75 in high. Weighs about 1.2 lb.
Care
Food, dishwasher and microwave safe, though washing by hand will keep the glaze looking its best. Ceramic gets very hot in a microwave, so take care lifting it out.
Made in
Made and glazed by hand in Victor Serrano's Brooklyn studio, New York.
Please note
Every piece is made and glazed by hand, so color, speckling and size vary a little from one to the next. That is the character of the work rather than a fault in it.
