Details

A zip pouch for pencils, pens and all the small things that end up loose at the bottom of a backpack, cut from organic cotton left over after Jackalo's clothes are made. Nothing was woven specially for it, which is what zero-waste means in practice here: the offcuts from a production run get used up instead of thrown away, so the pouch is made from fabric that already existed.

It is self-lined, meaning the same cotton doubles up on the inside rather than a separate lining fabric being brought in. That gives the walls some body so the pouch stands up in a bag instead of collapsing flat, and it is the reason there is no extra material in it. A sturdy zipper closes the top and a short handle makes it easy to pull out of a crowded backpack. Made with no PFAS.

It holds a full pencil case worth of kit and is just as useful for charger cables, art supplies, a travel toothbrush or the pieces of a craft project. In denim, acorn or khaki, and sturdy enough to go through a school year and come back for the next one.

Materials

Organic cotton cut from Jackalo's production scraps, self-lined in the same fabric. Made with no PFAS.
