Details

Keep your baby close and your hands free. The New Native carrier is a single loop of soft organic cotton — no buckles, no straps, no rings, nothing to fumble with while your baby fusses. Slip it on like a sweater, settle your little one in, and get on with your day.

Because it is cut to fit you and you alone, there is nothing to adjust and nothing to re-learn. It holds babies from 8 to 35 lb — the early weeks right through to around four years old — in several comfortable positions, including a hip carry once your baby can sit up and hold their head unaided. And it folds away small enough to tuck into any bag, so it is there for the grocery run, the school pickup, or the long walk that finally gets your baby to sleep.

Sewn by hand in California by a family company that has been making this same design since 1992, in certified organic cotton coloured with dyes that bond into the fibre itself and leave behind less harmful waste and run-off. Third-party tested and compliant with ASTM and Consumer Product Safety Commission standards. A carrier you will reach for every single day.

Materials

Certified organic cotton. The cotton is certified by OCIA and Quality Assurance International where it is grown in the USA, and by Control Union Certifications where it is grown in India.

Sizing

This carrier is sized to you rather than to your baby, and it does not adjust, so it is worth measuring before you choose. Measure above the bust, under the arms and all the way around your torso — this is not your bra size. Most people take the size of their pre-pregnancy fitted T-shirt.

Chest, in inches — XS 25–29, S 30–35, M 34–39, L 38–42, XL 40–45.

Each size runs 2 inches longer than the one below it, and a carrier that fits opens 5 to 7 inches when worn. XXS, XXL and XXXL are stocked here; New Native publishes no chest measurement for any of the three.

Care

Machine washable.

Made in

Sewn by hand in California, USA.

Please note

Read New Native's instructions and warnings in full before the first use. A soft carrier that is worn or folded wrongly can cause serious injury or death, and folding it correctly is part of wearing it safely. Use it only once your baby is over 8 lb and can hold their head up, and keep your baby visible and close enough to kiss at all times. Practice seated until you are confident. Once your baby has finished breastfeeding, return them to an upright carrying position. One carrier carries one baby — no soft carrier is approved for twins.
