Details
The small onyx, and the one that fits where a big candle will not. Six ounces and around forty hours of burning in a food-safe enamelled GHARYAN vessel, handcrafted by Tunisian artisans who are paid a fair wage — right for a bedside table, a desk or a bathroom shelf, and a small dark cup once the wax is gone. Even the wick adhesive is made with organic ingredients and dissolves in water, so the ceramic can be reused without hesitation.
The wax is organic beeswax, carnauba, coconut and palm, certified organic by the Soil Association, scented with organic essential oils and organic plant-derived aromatics. No paraffin, no synthetic fragrance, no phthalates, no metal wick cores. Hand-poured in Longmont, Colorado.
Four scents, plus Unscented.
Materials
Wax: organic beeswax, organic carnauba, organic coconut and organic palm, certified organic by the Soil Association. Wick: organic cotton and unbleached organic linen, coated with organic wax. Scent: organic essential oils and organic plant-derived aromatics; the Unscented option has none. Vessel: food-safe enamelled stoneware.
Sizing
170 g (6 oz) of wax. 2.5" diameter × 2.5" high. Burn time around 40 hours.
Care
Once the candle is finished, wash the stoneware in the dishwasher and reuse it. It is food safe.
Made in
United States — hand-poured in Longmont, Colorado. Stoneware made in Tunisia.
Please note
Trim the wick to 1/4" (6 mm) before each lighting. Burn for at least 2 hours at a time but no more than 4, to prevent overheating, and rotate the candle now and then for an even burn. If a dark mushroom forms on the wick, put the candle out, let it cool and trim before relighting. Keep the wax pool free of debris and put the candle out with a snuffer. Always burn within sight, on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and anything flammable. Keep away from children and pets, and do not move the candle while it is lit or still hot. Stop burning when 1/4" (6 mm) of wax remains. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Some tunnelling early on is normal; these are designed to catch up as they burn.
