Mini Hanging Loom
Details
A miniature loom hung as a wall piece, holding a panel of picbil cloth — a gauzy, almost lace-like weave patterned with plants, flowers, deer and birds. The loom frame shows the process the cloth came from, which is the point of it.
Woven on a traditional back-strap loom by a collective of 63 q'eqchi' women in north-eastern Guatemala, then mounted with wood accents and hung on handmade agave string. Weaving is learned there from about the age of ten.

Handwoven cotton picbil cloth, wood, handmade agave string.
Size
Approximately 12" wide × 12" high, excluding the hanging string.
