Laundry Powder Detergent

Three ingredients, 128 loads, and no plastic anywhere. This is laundry powder made from baking soda, washing soda and vegetable soap — genuinely the whole formula — and every ingredient is printed on the front of the canister, scents included, so no "fragrance" blend is hiding anything from you.

It arrives in a paper-and-steel canister with a stainless steel scoop, built to be refilled rather than replaced. Half a tablespoon does an HE load and a full tablespoon a standard one, tipped straight into the drum under your clothes rather than the dispenser drawer. It dissolves readily, works in cold cycles and is safe on every fabric. Net wt. 35 oz (992 g), enough for 128 HE or 64 standard loads.

Go unscented, or let your laundry carry a little lavender, lemon, peppermint, spiced orange or lemon-lavender-clove — all from organic essential oils, never synthetic fragrance. Ingredients

Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), sodium carbonate (washing soda), vegetable soap [sodium cocoate, glycerin, organic cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, water].

Scented varieties add organic essential oils only. Lavender adds organic lavandula hybrida (lavender) oil. Lemon adds organic citrus limon (lemon) peel oil. Peppermint adds organic mentha piperita (peppermint) leaf oil. Spiced Orange adds organic citrus sinensis (orange) oil and organic eugenia caryophyllus (clove) bud oil. Lemon-Lavender-Clove adds all three of organic citrus limon (lemon) peel oil, organic lavandula hybrida (lavender) oil and organic eugenia caryophyllus (clove) bud oil.

Septic-safe, but not suitable for greywater you then use on plants — the baking soda and washing soda would add too much sodium to your soil. Wash at 60°F or above; if your machine has a "tap cold" setting that adds no hot water, choose semi-warm instead. The scented varieties contain fragrance allergens.
