Hair Bow

An organic cotton bow, about 4.5 inches across, sewn from the fabric left over when Jackalo cuts its clothes. Choose it on a metal alligator clip, which grips fine hair as well as thick and holds through a day of running about, or on a hair elastic in black or blond to sit at the base of a ponytail or a braid.

The offcuts are the point. Zero-waste here means the ends of each roll are turned into something useful rather than thrown out, so no new cloth is woven for a bow. The colours are the same ones the pants and dresses are made in, which is why a bow actually picks up an outfit instead of fighting it.

Good for picture day, a birthday party, a recital, or just keeping hair out of a face at the playground. At this size it reads as deliberate rather than fussy, and it is small enough to live in a coat pocket.

Materials

Organic cotton, cut from Jackalo's production scraps. The clip version is mounted on a metal alligator clip.

Care

Pre-treat stains with an eco-friendly treatment such as oxygen bleach or castile soap. Wash in cool water and air dry. Don't wash what isn't dirty.

The metal alligator clip is a small part and is not suitable for an unsupervised baby or toddler.
