Classic Organic Candle

Light this one on an ordinary evening and the room settles. A beautifully uncomplicated staple, clean and elegant in any space, and the one to buy if you want a candle that simply works rather than announces itself. Ten ounces of wax gives you around 45 hours, so it will see out a whole winter of evenings.

What is not in it is the point: no paraffin, no synthetic fragrance, no phthalates, no GMOs and no metal wick cores. The wax is a blend of organic beeswax, carnauba, coconut and palm, certified organic by the Soil Association, and the scent comes from organic essential oils and organic plant-derived aromatics, which makes the candle more than 99.6% organic overall. Poured by hand in Longmont, Colorado, in American-made glass you can run through the dishwasher and keep, or recycle.

Twelve scents, including Pure Aura, which has no added botanicals and gives you warm light and nothing else.

Materials

Wax: organic beeswax, organic carnauba, organic coconut and organic palm, certified organic by the Soil Association. Wick: organic cotton and unbleached organic linen, coated with organic wax. Scent: organic essential oils and organic plant-derived aromatics; Pure Aura has none. Vessel: glass.

Sizing

284 g (10 oz) of wax. 3" diameter × 4" high. Burn time around 45 hours.

Care

The glass is dishwasher safe once the candle is finished, and can be repurposed or recycled.

Please note

Trim the wick to 1/4" (6 mm) before each lighting. Burn for at least 2 hours at a time but no more than 4, to prevent overheating, and rotate the candle now and then for an even burn. If a dark mushroom forms on the wick, put the candle out, let it cool and trim before relighting. Keep the wax pool free of debris and put the candle out with a snuffer. Always burn within sight, on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and anything flammable. Keep away from children and pets, and do not move the candle while it is lit or still hot. Stop burning when 1/4" (6 mm) of wax remains. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Some tunnelling early on is normal; these are designed to catch up as they burn.
