Details
Hand-thrown pottery with a candle in it. Every vessel in this run is made individually by Whiskey & Clay in Santa Fe, New Mexico, so the piece that arrives is not quite like any other — and it is built to be used long after the wax is gone, by hand or in the dishwasher. Even the wick adhesive is made with organic ingredients and dissolves in water, so the ceramic can be reused without hesitation.
The wax is organic beeswax, carnauba, coconut and palm, certified organic by the Soil Association, scented with organic essential oils and organic plant-derived aromatics. No paraffin, no synthetic fragrance, no phthalates, no metal wick cores. Hand-poured in Longmont, Colorado.
Whiskey & Clay blend porcelain with stoneware and fire high in a heavy-reduction gas kiln, which is where the dark rust tones and the depth in the glaze come from. The pieces are food safe and meant to be enjoyed through use. This first microbatch is Vanilla Bean, in two sizes.

Made in
United States — candle hand-poured in Longmont, Colorado; ceramic hand-thrown in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Please note
Each vessel is made by hand, so colour and glaze vary from piece to piece. Trim the wick to 1/4" (6 mm) before each lighting. Burn for at least 2 hours at a time but no more than 4, to prevent overheating, and rotate the candle now and then for an even burn. If a dark mushroom forms on the wick, put the candle out, let it cool and trim before relighting. Keep the wax pool free of debris and put the candle out with a snuffer. Always burn within sight, on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and anything flammable. Keep away from children and pets, and do not move the candle while it is lit or still hot. Stop burning when 1/4" (6 mm) of wax remains. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Some tunnelling early on is normal; these are designed to catch up as they burn.
