Broken In Billie Jacket

The Billie is the jacket for a child who does not sit still. It is cut from rescued post-consumer denim — fabric pulled from donated clothing the resale system could not place, already broken in by whoever wore it first — so the fade and texture of yours will be a little different from the one in these photos. That is how the Broken In line works, and it means no two jackets are exactly alike.

The cut is boxy and hip length, with room to layer a sweatshirt underneath and room in the arms to grow. Varsity-inspired contrast sleeves and collar, wood buttons down the front, and two deep patch pockets that actually hold what a pocket gets asked to hold. It is unisex, it runs true to size, and it is the layer that ends up living by the front door.

Sizing

Sizes run true to size, with extra length built in. If your child is between sizes, size up. The cotton may shrink about 3–5% on the first wash. Measure your child to choose: around the chest just under the armpit, around the waist at its narrowest, and around the fullest part of the hips.

Care

Pre-treat stains with an eco-friendly treatment such as oxygen bleach or castile soap. Wash in cool water. Air dry, or tumble dry on low. Don’t wash what isn’t dirty.
