Naturally Dyed Herbal Yoga Towels

A lightweight, absorbent yoga towel with just enough grip to hold a pose. Lay it over an okoliving rug to catch sweat and protect the mat, or over any mat you already own. It is handsome enough that you may find yourself using it off the mat too — in the shower, at the beach, or as a wrap.

okoliving’s hand-loomed cotton towels are dyed by an old Ayurvedic method. It takes skilled artisans in India several days to prepare and spin the cotton, hand dye the threads and weave the towel. The workshop pays fair wages and keeps safe working conditions, and most of the weavers are women working from home alongside their families. The herbal mix was chosen by an Ayurvedic doctor for its skin-soothing and anti-stress properties.

Materials

100% organic raw cotton, hand-loomed, dyed entirely with plants: neem, turmeric, holy basil, indigo, hibiscus flowers, mint leaves, lemon grass, ashok tree leaves, poppy seed oil, bodhi tree, amla gooseberry, arda, wild Himalayan cherry, madder, vetiver, wood apple, plum cherry, kaarakil and Indian kino tree. Rose Quartz is madder root, Indigo Moon is indigo, Citrine is turmeric and Clay is cherry plum. Free of man-made dyes, heavy metals, PVC, BPA and phthalates.

Care

Machine or hand wash cold, hang dry, cool press. Use a natural detergent. Keep out of direct sunlight.

Please note

Natural indigo may rub off onto hands and feet before the first wash. The colours are dyed extra dark because plant dyes lighten over time.
