Vegetable Bag

A zip-top linen bag for the vegetables you reach for most — carrots, cucumbers, beets, celery, broccoli, peppers, squash. Linen is breathable and absorbent, so the bag holds light moisture against the produce while still letting air move. That is the balance most vegetables want, and the one a sealed plastic bag cannot give them.

This is a damp-storage bag. Load it with vegetables still wet from rinsing, hearty things at the bottom and delicate ones up near the zipper, then keep it in the crisper drawer and re-wet the linen as it dries out. Onions, garlic and potatoes can go in it at room temperature instead. The linen is untreated — there is no antimicrobial finish on it.

Care

Turn inside out and shake out any debris. Hand wash, or machine wash on gentle in warm water with a natural, non-toxic detergent — baking soda works well. Do not tumble dry. Use it straight out of the spin cycle, or air dry, ideally in the sun.
