Walnut Wood Plate

These gorgeous wooden plates get their start as a plank of walnut wood, hand-carved and shaped to create a curve-rimmed round to layer all your favorite food on top. Each plate exhibits its own charming combination of wood grain, color variation, and carved side. Choose a single salad plate, a single dinner plate, or the set of both.

CREATING COMFORT makes these in its studio in Ukraine and directs part of its proceeds to Ukrainian refugees inside the country.

Materials

Walnut wood, hand-carved from a single piece, with an oil finish.

Size

Dinner Plate: height 1", diameter 9.45". Salad Plate: height 1", diameter 7.45".

Care

Hand wash with a mild dish soap and re-oil regularly with food-grade flaxseed oil or a beeswax wood conditioner. Avoid cooking oils such as olive or sunflower, which turn rancid in wood. Do not submerge or soak, which will warp the wood over time. Not dishwasher, microwave or oven safe.

Please note

Hand-carved from solid wood, so grain, colour and dimensions differ from piece to piece. Wood can crack as it ages.
