Souchong Debut Earthen Tallow Candle in Smoke-Brushed Terracotta Vessel

A 4 oz candle poured into a pit-fired earthen vessel made from wild clay gathered at the base of the Sierra Nevada, in collaboration with Berkeley potter Matt Fishman. This is the smoke-brushed finish, earthy and marked by the fire. Each vessel is thrown and fired by hand, so colour and texture vary from one to the next. The scent is smoky and resinous: Lapsang Souchong black tea, Choya Loban, vetiver, Moroccan cardamom, Siam wood and smoked Omani frankincense. It burns for about 25 to 30 hours. On the first burn let the pool of wax reach the edge, which takes one to two hours, and stop using it when about half an inch of wax is left. The vessel is food-safe and hand-washable once the wax is gone.

Regenerative Tallow® (Suet) from pasture-raised Northern California cattle, Raw Beeswax from local California hives, Organic Calendula CO₂ Extract, Essential Oils and Resins of Lapsang Souchong Tea, Choya Loban, Vetiver, Moroccan Cardamom, Siam Wood and Smoked Omani Frankincense.
