Oxygen Brightener Bleach Alternative

Two ingredients that lift stains and clear lingering odors, with no chlorine involved. Oxygen Brightener is sodium percarbonate and washing soda and nothing else — a laundry booster when you add it to a wash, and an oxygen cleaner when you dissolve it in water for soaking or scrubbing.

A tablespoon boosts a load of laundry, tipped into the drum under your clothes. For everything else, dissolve a tablespoon in 8 to 16 oz of warm water, or about a quarter cup per gallon, and use it while it is fresh. It comes in a paper-and-steel canister built to be refilled rather than replaced, with no plastic anywhere. Net wt. 32 oz (907 g), enough for 128 HE or 64 standard loads.

This is the one Meliora product that is not septic-safe, because the oxidizers that do the cleaning also kill bacteria. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, and rinse the surface thoroughly after cleaning with it. Never store the mixed solution in a sealed container — it gives off oxygen as it works. Mix only as much as you need; the solution loses strength as it sits.
